Below is information that will provide assistance with some common issues that you might encounter when accessing sites from outside the LAUSD network.

How to resolve
All -
First, do this to receive any future updates available for certificates or other software items on your LAUSD computer		  
  • Go to http://greendesktop.lausd.net
  • Follow the instructions to login with your SSO/LAUSD Email account name and password.
  • Select INSTALLING THE GREEN DESKTOP
  • Select the video for Windows or Macintosh
Google Chrome

For a MacOS, follow the same instructions listed for Safari.

For Windows follow the same instructions listed for I.E. but you must use I.E. to install the certificate.
Internet Explorer - Windows

To install the certificate immediately:

  • Go to http://rootca.lausd.net and click on the “install this CA certificate chain” link
  • Press YES on the message labeled "Potential Scripting Violation" to continue
  • A message "The CA certificate chain has been successfully installed." will appear if the process completes successfully.
Firefox - Macintosh and Windows

To install the certificate immediately:

  • Go to http://rootca.lausd.net/LAUSD_CA.crt
  • A file should download and you should see LAUSD_CA.CRT in the DOWNLOADS windowCERT_DOWNLOAD
  • Double-click on the file name and KEYCHAIN ACCESS will launch
  • A message will appear asking you to confirm adding this certificate
  • Press ALWAYS TRUST
  • You will be asked to log into your local computer
  • MacOS users - Do this for each local account
Apple iOS users (iPad/iPod Touch)
iPad
 To install the certificate on these devices go to http://lausd.apple.com/ios/
    Use ITD Customer Self-Service to open service requests related to any additional issues you encounter
